Frequently Asked Questions

What is the grade required to pass?

The passing grade for all correspondence courses is 80%. A Certificate of Completion with CECs and CEUs will be sent once you have successfully passed the test.

How long will it take to complete each course?

CHEK Institute recommendation for Scientific Core Conditioning – 24 hours

CHEK Institute recommendation for Program Design – 8 hours

CHEK Institute recommendation for Scientific Back Training – 18 hours

The time taken to complete each course is dependent on the person it and the reasons they are taking it. Some people only needing Continuing Education Credits will watch the videos once through and successfully pass the test. Other people who are more interested in learning the information or are interested in taking it as a prerequisite for the CHEK Exercise Coach Program will sometimes watch the videos 2-3 times through. We generally recommend that students who are preparing for CHEK Exercise Coach take about one month to study each course, especially if they are working full time. This means most people need to start about 4 months before the course, to give them time to study the courses and practice the concepts before the due date, 30 days before the start of the course.

There are a lot of questions on the tests. Are they hard?

Thousands of people, some with extremely limited knowledge in anatomy or exercise, have passed these tests successfully. Occasionally there are a few individuals who do not pass the test the first time, but generally do so once they have reviewed the material again. The benefit of having a video correspondence course is that the viewer can review the video as many times as is necessary until they gain an understanding of the material. Successful completion of this course has not so much to do with an individual’s current level of knowledge as it does with the amount of time one spends watching the videos and reading the manual.

Everything I Needed And More

i've always been interesting in this type of lifestyle, well just health and fitness in general, also help from following those on instagram that embody a similar style, living this kind of way for the last 2 years. i thought i knew a lot, but this course has just sparked a fire under me, the content and structure that this course has delivered has gone beyond my expectations and absorbs into my brain like a sponge. I thought i knew a lot but boyy was i wrong. This course is just the tip of the iceberg and im looking forward to HLC level 2. if you're really looking to up your knowledge and wisdom with Holistic Lifestyle, or even looking to get into the game, this is definitely the place to be, and to be taught by IMO the godfather of health and movement is an experience worth having. Don't go cheap on your body, and don't go cheap on a qualification either... Much love to Paul and the team, would love to get in touch some time :)

HLC 1 online - great!

A very unique course. Representation was clear and on-point. I dont know if finding clients for this could be a problem in my country, I'll see about that.

Scientific Back training

Great course and other prerequisite for IMS1! Paul in this course shows his holistic approach to back pain. He explains how its not only about exercise but how important are breathing, mastication, visual and vestibular system and many other things. Except that he shows you a lot of his assesment techniques and a a lot of exercises from rehabilitation exercises to basic lifts like a squat or deadlift.

Program Design 2nd edition

In my opinion this is the best of three prerequisites for IMS 1. No matter if you are beginner trainer or if I you have already gained some experience in the field I believe you will get some enriching knowledge for you. Paul explains here some basic professional terms and gives you detailed description a using of tempo, rest period, loading, periodization and much more.
