The newly reimagined, most complete core training system available today.
Now featuring real-client avatars, new video content, updated assessments, and 20+ years of clinical application

Presented by Matt Wallden. This 100% online course includes a digital manual and 73 streaming videos (over 7 hours), and test.

Scientific Core Conditioning 2nd Edition is the newly reimagined, most complete core training system available today. Now featuring real-client avatars, new video content, updated assessments, and 20+ years of clinical application — this course teaches you how to restore, assess, and train the core as the central stabilising system of the body.

Whether you're working with post-rehab clients, athletes, or chronic pain cases, SCC2 will give you a deeper lens into the true function of the core — and how to apply that knowledge immediately in your practice.

  • The updated functional anatomy of the core and its integration with posture, breath, and stability
  • How to screen clients for postural faults, pelvic tilt, and deep core dysfunction
  • Why the tongue, diaphragm, and IAP play critical roles in core strength
  • How to apply SCC2 to post-surgical rehab cases (C-sections, hernias, hysterectomies)
  • The difference between outer unit strength and inner unit sequencing
  • How to program from isolation to full-body dynamic integration
  • Practical assessment tools and progression systems used at the CHEK Clinic
  • Real-world coaching examples through avatar-based case models

This course is essential for strength coaches, rehab professionals, personal trainers, Pilates instructors, and any practitioner working with the spine, posture, or athletic performance.

What is the grade required to pass?

A passing grade of 80% is required. You’ll receive a Certificate of Completion with your CECs and CEUs once you pass the online exam.

How long will it take to complete?

We recommend setting aside 20 hours to complete the course thoroughly. Some students finish faster — others go deeper and review materials 2–3 times. The course contains over 8 hours of video content, broken into clear modules for easy review and reference.

Is there overlap with Scientific Back Training?

There’s minimal overlap. SCC2 focuses on qualitative assessments (e.g. inner unit, posture, IAP) and core function as a stabilisation system. Scientific Back Training focuses on quantitative measures and strength programming for back musculature.

Is the test difficult?

Thousands of students — including those with little background in anatomy — have passed SCC successfully. You can retake incorrect answers after review. The key to success is not what you know before… but how much time you invest in learning the material.

Foundational Learning

This course is a foundation, and (IMO) all movement practitioners should do this course as a base for their practice. I have been working in the fitness industry for 20+ years, and I still find all this information relevant and essential. You'll bring your clients to the next level with this knowledge and be well beyond your peers.

Core condition

I really enjoyed the course. Great explanations. The one thing I wish was a bit different were the example avatar characters used to teach. They were al athletes of some level. I wish they had a newbie to exercise or a deconditioned senior citizen. This is a very common scenario that we fitness pros encounter. It would have been nice to have that demographic used as zn teaching example
